Comcast to award 500 small business grant packages across five U.S. regions

On August 19, 2025, Comcast announced the award of 500 new small business grant packages through its Comcast RISE initiative. This initiative aims to strengthen local communities by supporting American Small Businesses.

The grants will be distributed in September 2025 to entrepreneurs in Boston, Massachusetts; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Nashville, Tennessee; Seattle, Washington; and South Vallet, Utah. Each package combines financial support, technology upgrades, creative services, and educational resources.

Now in its fifth year, Comcast RISE is part of Project UP, the company’s $1 billion initiative to expand digital access and opportunity. The program also emphasizes the importance of strengthening local communities by equipping small businesses with tools for long-term growth. Since its launch, the program has provided $160 million in monetary, marketing, and technology resources to 14,500 small businesses across the country.

“Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy,” said Dalila Wilson-Scott, executive vice president and chief impact and inclusion officer at Comcast Corporation and president of the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation. “This is about more than grants, it’s about providing the resources and support to drive long-term local impact.”

Each selected business will receive a comprehensive package designed to strengthen operations and visibility.

Benefits include:

  • Technology makeover: Computer equipment and one year of internet, voice, and cybersecurity services for Comcat Business
  • Creative production & media: Professionally produce 30-second TV commercials, media consultation, and a six-month ad schedule from Comcat Advertising.
  • Educational resources: One year of 24/7 access to entrepreneurship courses and modules.
  • Monetary grant: A $5,000 direct financial support.
  • Business coaching: Personalized assessments and one-on-one coaching sessions.

Comcast business powers more U.S. small businesses than any other provider, equipping them with technology to operate more effectively. Comcast Advertising, a global leader in media and technology, provides tools to help small businesses connect with their audiences and grow brand awareness.

Through Comcast RISE, the company positions itself as a long-term partner in entrepreneurship, supporting innovation, job creation, and community strength. With new grants set for September, Comcast said it aims to expand the program’s local impact while continuing to invest in the future of small businesses nationwide.
