SMBs can now accept payments directly from Google Calendar bookings

Stripe, the esteemed eCommerce financial infrastructure platform, has announced an exciting collaboration with Google Workspace to enhance the payment experience for appointment bookings through Google Calendar. This innovative integration, leveraging the capabilities of Stripe Checkout and Stripe Connect enables customers to conveniently make payments while scheduling appointments using a booking page integrated with Google Calendar.

Ilya Brown, Vice President of Product Management at Google Workspace, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Stripe makes it incredibly easy to accept payments directly from Google Calendar, so customers can complete bookings and make payments in seconds.”

With this new feature, businesses can seamlessly link their account on Stripe, establish pricing for their services, and offer clients the convenience of booking and paying through Google Calendar. The process is simple: customers visit the booking page, select their preferred time slot, and provide payment details. Businesses also have the choice to limit entry to the meeting until payment has been successfully completed via the booking page for appointments.

How Will This Help Small Businesses?

In a bid to alleviate financial burdens on small businesses, leading fintech company Stripe has unveiled a new integration that enhances the speed and convenience of transaction completion.

Developed on Stripe Connect and Stripe Checkout platforms, this innovative feature enables businesses to seamlessly link their Stripe account, establish service prices, and offer clients the ease of booking and making payments in a single location – Google Calendar. Customers can effortlessly visit the business’s booking page, select a preferred appointment time, and input payment details. Enterprises have the option to restrict access to a meeting until payment has been successfully made via the appointment booking page.

Mike Clayville, Chief Revenue Officer at Stripe, succinctly summed up the potential benefits for small businesses, stating, “By making appointment booking and payment ridiculously easy for customers, businesses can reduce administrative workloads and boost revenue.”

Beyond simplified booking procedures, the utilization of Stripe Checkout brings added advantages to businesses. This feature presents an optimized checkout form specifically designed to eliminate payment friction. With support for more than 40 payment methods, it caters to a diverse range of customers, ultimately enhancing the overall user experience. In a recent controlled study, Stripe reported that businesses implementing these latest checkout optimizations observed a remarkable 10.5% increase in revenue.
