We’re pleased to welcome Susannah Darrow, Founder of Susannah Darrow Consulting, former Executive Director of ArtsATL, and Arts and Culture Advisor to the Atlanta City Council. Today, we discuss the importance of corporate social engagement and how engaging with the arts and community helps stimulate economic growth.

corporate social engagementSusannah has been working in non-profit development for roughly 10 years. She founded the not for profit, Atlanta-based digital magazine BURNAWAY which provides news coverage of the arts in the southeast, writing workshops, and an art writing incubator program. She is also the former director of ArtsATL, and now runs her own consulting business, Susannah Darrow Consulting, which offers a wide range of services including:

  • Fundraising
  • Grant Writing
  • Market Analysis
  • Networking
  • Donor Development

Susannah provides these services to non-profit organizations who are looking to scale up their operations or simply make them more efficient. She also works with for-profit companies who want to create a non-profit division of their business devoted to social causes and community outreach.

Corporate social engagement is more important now than ever, according to Susannah. Employees are more likely to stay working at a business that supports the community and thoughtfully engages with a worthy cause. Consumers, as well, are trending towards buying from companies that are socially conscious, and that give back to the communities they serve.

To find out more about Susannah, her consulting business, and her role as Arts and Culture Advisor to the Atlanta City Council, be sure to watch our full interview above.
