Intuit unveils AI agents to automate business tasks and boost growth

Intuit has announced a significant expansion of its QuickBooks platform with the launch of proactive AI agents designed to automate business workflows, improve cash flow, and accelerate growth for small and mid-sized businesses. The new features will begin rolling out on July 1 across QuickBooks Online products in the U.S.

These embedded AI agents function as a virtual team, streamlining tasks such as invoicing, bookkeeping, payroll, CRM, and financial forecasting. Intuit says the tools can save businesses up to 12 hours a month while delivering personalized insights and enabling smarter, faster decision-making. The agents are also designed to work seamlessly with human experts to enhance collaboration and support.

Intuit’s AI enhancements include a redesigned QuickBooks web interface with customizable widgets and a real-time business feed. A new mobile app experience extends the same functionality on the go. Early user feedback indicates that 78% of customers believe the AI tools make running their business easier, and 68% report that it helps them spend more time on growth.

Among the new tools:
  • Payments Agent predicts late payments and automates invoice tracking.
  • Accounting Agent handles transaction categorization and reconciliation.
  • Finance Agent delivers advanced reporting and forecasting capabilities.
  • Payroll and Project Management Agents will support growing businesses later this year.
  • Customer Hub adds CRM-focused agents that manage leads, send emails, and track sales cycle progress.

Further, a Marketing Agent, launching later this year, will use Mailchimp to manage campaigns and customer outreach.

For over 40 years, Intuit has focused on helping businesses and individuals manage finances more efficiently. The company’s new AI-powered platform aims to simplify operations, reduce manual effort, and give accountants and business owners a unified system to manage and grow their businesses with confidence.
