During the 2025 U.S. Chamber of Commerce CO-100 Awards, ASBN Co-founder Jim Fitzpatrick had the opportunity to speak with Nina Kaiser, founder of Practice San Francisco, to learn how her company helps people develop skills for better mental health.
Practice San Francisco is a mental health center that provides support to kids, teens and adults across the Bay area. The company is called “Practice” because research shows that mental health largely depends on skills that can be developed through practice. The organization operates two primary departments: patient therapy and preventive education for schools and employers.
"For parents, teens, and anyone on social media, what you're seeing are the highlights of someone else's life. It's so easy for your own life to fall short in comparison."
Looking ahead, Kaiser is passionate about expanding Practice’s reach to support more people. The company currently has 18 providers and plans to open a fourth location in spring 2026, with long-term goals to expand into Southern California.
For aspiring entrepreneurs, Kaiser advises them to hold on tight. Running a business can be a wild rollercoaster, but it’s a highly rewarding experience that teaches grit, perseverance, and resilience.
