Tom Matte unlocks ‘upsight vision,’ a new way to tap untapped human potential

On this episode of The Small Business Show, we sit down with Tom Matte, business consultant and founder of Upsight Vision Consulting, to explore a remarkable and unconventional tool for business insight and personal growth. What began as a mental health crisis over a decade ago has evolved into what Matte calls “Upsight Vision,” a capacity to perceive and engage with external holographic images that he claims can help individuals unlock creative blocks, analyze subconscious patterns, and access a level of intelligence beyond AI.

Tom Matte’s story begins with a complete personal crisis—an addiction-fueled psychosis that cost him his business, family, and financial stability. But after achieving sobriety, Matte discovered something unexpected: the ability to “see” and interact with holographic images outside his body, both with his eyes open and closed. These visualizations, which he compares to scenes in Iron Man or The Queen’s Gambit, aren’t figments of imagination, he insists, but external phenomena that require smooth eye movements and even physically tire his eyes, evidence that they are more than mental projections.

Curious and cautious, Matte underwent two MRIs, both of which came back clean. He then spent 10 years researching neuroscience, ultimately catching the attention of the Institute of Noetic Sciences in 2022. After conducting 200 randomized tests, scientists compared his brain states while using Upsight Vision to those from traditional memory recall and confirmed distinct neural patterns for each method.

Now, Matte utilizes this ability to conduct “readings” for clients, many of whom are business owners or musicians who feel stuck or need insight. In a typical session, he observes a series of symbolic images that appear around the individual, like a man with scissors cutting shoelaces or boardroom scenes with unexpected participants. These symbols, he says, aren’t meant to predict the future but to reveal potential internal conflicts or subconscious cues.

“I'm the IKEA of this business. I give them the tools, I give them the furniture, but they've got to put it together.”

He has also published a PDF guide titled “The Eight Stages of Upsight Vision” on his website and believes this ability represents a larger, unexplored frontier of human potential, which he describes as “a kind of intelligence more advanced than AI.” While he’s not a therapist or psychic, Matte sees himself as a consultant who provides people with symbolic tools that, like IKEA furniture, they must assemble themselves.

Looking ahead, he sees opportunities to collaborate with creative teams or technologists to develop applications for Upsight Vision in AI, communication, and human development—emphasizing that this is only the beginning of a broader scientific exploration.
